We make Bernedoodle Puppies, see what we have available
Bernedoodle Puppies Available

It all began whit some life changing circumstances a couple of years ago that gave me an opportunity to choose a new path. I was contemplating my future and I love dogs, my new husband has a farm, I had a couple of doodles, add that all together and "hey, let's make puppies."

First, we invested in some more dogs to add to our breeding program, and we raised them and loved them until finally one by one they're becoming old enough to be parents. We got our garages and kennels prepped and ready for the whole process. We bought our own ultrasound machine, some whelping boxes and we were ready for them to do the deed. God had the wheel, and so we waited for that first litter.

It's been trial and error these first couple of litters, but we're finding out what works and what doesn't. It's no different than anything else. You make a choice and you research, you talk to other breeders, you find a great vet, you read up on the things you need to learn, change what needs changed, and embrace the process.

The biggest thing that I wasn't prepared for was the judgement and criticism by people who are anti-dog breeders. My husband doesn't understand why I let them bother me, but it does. Just because a rescue dog worked out for you doesn't mean it's a good fit for everyone. I tried to rescue a dog a couple of years back. The cute little guy acted like snoopy at the shelter and two weeks later he sent my father-in-law to the hospital after he attacked him over a chunk of hot dog that fell on the ground. So, believe me, I wish there was something that could be done to stop the over population in shelters. I just don't think that responsible dog loving breeders are causing the problem. The internet has made it so easy to research potential buyers and target your ads and marketing to the right demographics that the screening process to find great homes is almost effortless. Pairing my pups with the right family is as important to me as the puppy's health. So much so that I recently requested a buyer come back and choose another puppy because the one they picked was going to be better suited for someone else.

And please don't judge me for charging money for my puppies. Like my dad always said, "profit isn't a 4-letter word." Even though we aren't in it just for the money, in order for us to care for these dogs and grow our program it takes funds to do that. We are so blessed to have the time, resources, and the space to continue to grow and improve on our dog breeding program.

This is just the beginning of Solida Farms Bernedoodles, I plan on learning and growing and providing families with loveably furry pets for years to come. Stay tuned.....There'll be more to come!
